Mess Free Easter Egg Decorating

Mess Free Easter Egg Decorating

One week until Easter which means this week we'll be busy getting baskets together and planning family activities. Of course decorating Easter eggs is on the list!

This year we tried out using our temporary tattoos that we sell in shop on some hard boiled eggs. We love how they turned out! They are so bold, detailed and a fun  twist on traditional egg coloring.

What You Need:

  • Eggs (large size, hard boiled, cooled & dry)
  • Temporary Tattoos
  • Scissors
  • Cloth or Paper Towels
  • Water

I bought jumbo eggs at the store -- I think the bigger the egg the easier to apply. Make sure your eggs are cooled & dry after you boil them before applying the tattoos. To prep the tattoos cut around the design closely so you are not dealing with a lot of extra paper during the application. Next peel off the clear protective layer of the tattoos and lay them onto your egg, just as you would if you were applying it to your skin. Dip your cloth or paper towel in water getting it nice & wet. Hold the wet (like sopping wet) cloth onto the tattoo. If the tattoo needs to curve around the egg, start on 1 side and work your way from one side to the other (don't start in the middle). Once completely applied the tattoo paper will kind of start to slip away.

You could add the tattoo to an already colored egg too! The colors may vary, but the tattoo should still stand out.

If you're short on time and don't want to clean up a huge mess, tattooing white eggs is fun and addicting - so stock up on lots of tattoos & have fun!
